Welcome to Web Time and Billing’s first blog post! We are officially rolling out the WTAB service at this time. Stay tuned for future posts which will focus on special features of WTAB and how to utilize them.

For this initial post, we will explain how we got here. DataGem Corporation has been a consulting company specializing in database solutions since 1989. We have been involved in many different kinds of kinds of project – manufacturing, healthcare, CRM, elections, engineering, telephony and baseball statistics to name a few. One consistent need we had through all of these projects was the ability to easily keep track of project time charges and to bill for these charges in a convenient yet comprehensive way. We were software people, so we created our own tools. As technology shifted, we kept porting the solution to utilize new capabilities and to expand the scope of our solution.

Some time back, we came to the realization that our time and billing solution was really good. It made it easy for consultants to enter their individual time charges and for an AR person to generate detailed invoices, to email them to customers, and to track cash receipts. Why not spruce WTAB up a bit, deploy it to the cloud, and offer the service to other consulting companies with needs like our own?
